Investigator PhD student in the Graduate Program of Environmental Engineering (PPGEA) at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). Received his BEng in Environmental Engineering from Federal University of Paraná and Institute Technology of Tralee in Ireland. The research is focused on the computational fluid dynamic, with special emphasis on dynamic of stratified flow. The major interests are related to internal gravity wave and gravity current motion.

CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS
Internal waves are waves that propagate within a stratified fluid, they occur frequently in oceans, lakes, reservoirs, and as well as in atmosphere.
Although they are not easily detected, such surface waves, their complex patterns and huge amplitude present important effects on the local environment. The hydrodynamic of stratified basins is essentialy controled by internal waves and gravity currents which influence pollutant dispersion, sediment ressuspension, dynamic of aquatic communities, primary production, greenhouse gases emissions, and the thermal stratification of the basin.
In huge lakes and oceans, internal waves just not influence the whole local hydrodynamic structure, but present a great impact on the local microclimate. Current studies¹ indicates that giant internal waves formed in South China Sea has huge impact on the Earth's climate, and are an important piece in global climate models.
